Welcome to Imagine That on Wednesdays! Let’s have a little fun, shall we?
About a month ago we talked about our first exposure to vampires and our first loves in that genre. If you missed out or want a refresher, you can read it here. There were a lot of favorites and multiple loyalties. So let’s see what happens when we pit two of those delicious vampire specimens against each other. I wonder who will come out on top…
First up:
Stefan Salvatore
This tortured vamp has an unfortunate addiction to human blood and a dark past filled with murder and mayhem. He’s reformed, however, and only drinks animal blood (except when it comes to his beloved Elena). His evil brother, Damon, vies for his girlfriend’s affections, but does that make him lose his cool and stake his evil brother? Nope. Stefan’s a softy.

Edward Cullen
Hm, also a somewhat tortured vamp who drinks animal blood and goes crazy at the scent of his love interest, Bella. He has his own rival for this girl’s affections in the form of werewolf Jacob. Hey, these two vamps lead rather similar lives. They kinda look alike too…
Now it’s up to you, my friends. Who do you vote for? In a showdown between these two vamps, who comes out on top, Stefan or Edward?

I don’t know Stefan, but he does look pretty spunky! Despite that, my Twilight phase left an imprint on me that’s urging me to vote for Edward Cullen.
If you put Ed up against Angel though, now that would be a different story entirely!

I vote neither guy, lol. Stefan isn’t my favorite vamp on Vampire Diaries, actually Damon has been, until Klaus came along. Now I’m a fan of Klaus, especially since he responded to one of my tweets on Twitter!
Edward is okay, but a little unemotional for me. I like vamps with personality!
Susan, I suppose I shouldn’t really be surprised that you like Klaus. 😛 But if you want to see him kick some butt, you’ll have to give me a contestant to pair him with. Preferably a matched fight.

I am a sucker for big bad vampires, lol. As for competition for him, that is tough. The only other vampire-werewolf hybrid I know of is Michael from Underworld. He isn’t that old, though, so Klaus would probably take him.
I was excited when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) replied to my Tweet. I had told him “Safety is an illusion”. He agreed with me. He likes to play his Vampire Diaries role on Twitter, which gets rather humorous. It drives Stefan nuts as they are often together when he does it.
Hm… I’m not really a vampire fan. Never watched Vampire Diaries and didn’t finish the Twilight series because Bella got on my nerves so much. I don’t know anything about Stefan, but I strongly dislike Edward. So, one vote against Edward, just for kicks. 😛

I haven’t watched Vampire Diaries or seen Twilight, but I have read the books for each (Vampire Diaries was one of my fav series in middle school). I was a HUGE Stefan fan, because he was all elegant and brooding and Italian and wore lovely designer clothes. There’s an exchange between he and Elena that I can still sticks in my mind, 12 years later, where Stefan is trying to show Elena what a monster he can be. To illustrate, he snaps a couple of thick logs in two and growls to Elena, “Your precious neck.” I found this incredibly attractive, lol.
Really, though, I feel like SM pulled a LOT from Vampire Diaries. Edward always reminded me a bit of Stefan, though I think Edward is the more mopey of the two.
Lena, I haven’t read Vampire Diaries, but that scene does ring like deja vu! What is it they say, everything’s already been written? 😉
I am a loyal fan of the Twilight story 🙂 I haven’t really watched Vampire Diaries on a regular basis so I am not so familiar with the characters yet. But I really plan to check this series out regularly. Between Edward and Stefan, I will always go with Edward 🙂 But I am actually with Team Jacob. Between Edward and Jacob, Jacob wins for me hands-down! Please post an article about this werewolf hunk! Thank you 🙂

I don’t follow the Vampire Diaries. Someone please give me a reason to. Oh, well, guess this contest between the vamps could give me a reason, right? Unfortunately, because of this, I’m with Shyxter.
