Stories and Songs

It’s Move Me Monday again.  How about some music?

Mark Schultz is an amazing singer.  His songs tell powerful stories that always move me to tears.  This one’s been playing in my car recently.

If that song touched your heart, Rebecca Enzor posted another of his songs, “Letters From War,” on her blog if you’d like to check it out.

What’s the last song that moved you to tears because of its message?  What’s your favorite song that tells a story?  I love hearing from you!

For the rest of September, everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a drawing to win a free e-book copy of Elemental Magic when it releases in October.  Five winners will be selected.

Aileen Donovan wants nothing more than recognition as an elemental scientist by her supernatural community.  What better way to do that than to solve a mystery involving a power-hungry alchemist, hallucinogenic coral, and a homicidal sea dragon?  The hardest part will be working with Coast Guard officer Colin Benson—until the tides turn, and Aileen realizes that love and duty may not have to be mutually exclusive.

  1. We should just post his entire album for everyone. I don’t even consider myself a Christian anymore and I STILL listen to him regularly 🙂 So beautiful!

What a beautiful song, Angela. The song that moves me to tears every time is “100 Years,” by Train. The lyrics are powerful, and it always reminds me of my parents getting older and how my time with them is growing increasingly limited.

  3. My gospel inspiration go to is Richard Smallwood. Tons of stuff by him both move me to years and lift me up to fly. Like “My Everything (Praise Waiteth)” and “It’s Working (Roman’s 8:28).” Thanks for sharing this.

  4. Absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing 🙂

  5. It’s an old song sung by a lot of artists… “You Don’t Know Me”. It always reminds me of the time when my husband and I were friends…before we decided to “date”. 🙂

Aaaack, Rebecca posted “Letters from War” a few weeks ago and totally got me back onto a Mark Schultz kick. “Remember Me” and “Back in His Arms Again” are two of my favorites, although “He’s My Son” is the song that really makes me bawl. He’s just amazing when it comes to evoking emotion in his music. I *need* to get my hands on Stories and Songs.
